GLORIA, ORIENTAL MINDORO — In a continuous effort to bring essential public services directly to the community, the Gloria Municipal Police Station (MPS) actively participated in the Local Government Unit’s (LGU) “Serbisyo Caravan” held in Barangay Malamig on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
The Gloria MPS deployed its personnel to set up a comprehensive assistance and public information desk, offering a range of services designed to support and educate the residents of the barangay.
Key Services and Activities Conducted:
- National Police Clearance Assistance: The station prioritized assisting residents with their National Police Clearance applications. A highlight of this service was the processing of free police clearances for first-time job seekers, lifting the financial burden for youths entering the workforce. Police personnel also guided other residents through the renewal process for expired clearances, saving them a trip to the main station.
- VAWC Awareness Lectures: Dedicated officers conducted informative lectures on the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act (VAWC), educating residents about their rights and the legal protections available to vulnerable sectors.
- Distribution of IEC Materials: The team actively distributed Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials, handing out flyers containing safety reminders and anti-criminality campaign guidelines to help residents protect themselves and their properties.
- Municipal Ordinance Dissemination: To promote discipline and order, police personnel took the opportunity to inform and remind the public about the existing municipal ordinances being strictly implemented within the Municipality of Gloria.
Police Major (PMAJ) Florante M. Sugian II, Acting Chief of Police of the Gloria MPS, emphasized the importance of a proactive and community-centered approach to law enforcement.
“Our participation in this Serbisyo Caravan is a testament to our commitment to bringing PNP services closer to the people. By providing free police clearance assistance to our first-time job seekers, we hope to make their employment journey a little easier. Furthermore, empowering the community through VAWC lectures and information drives on local ordinances is crucial in maintaining a peaceful and orderly town. We will continuously work hand-in-hand with the local government to deliver fast, reliable, and holistic service to every resident of Gloria,” stated PMAJ Sugian.
The LGU-led Serbisyo Caravan is an ongoing initiative designed to consolidate various government services—including medical, civil, and security assistance—and deliver them directly to far-flung and rural barangays. The Gloria MPS reaffirmed its full support for future community outreach programs to ensure public safety and foster stronger police-community relations.
